I have been a legal trainer (to solicitors and HR managers) with the Law Society, CIPD, ACCA and Central Law Tutors but I particularly enjoy training in the workplace. Since Lockdown I’ve been doing this via Teams/Zoom, a very effective way to get the message across also ensuring those attending can speak confidently.
My most recent training programme, prepared along with a client’s HR team is ‘Dignity in the Workplace’ and designed for the whole workforce with a separate linked session with managers.
Training- along with drafting contracts is the best way of implementing law at work. Employees tend to appreciate it.
Training has 3 main benefits:
- It creates a better working environment
- it stops endless historic comparisons
- it can be a complete defence in discrimination claims -the ‘reasonable steps’ defence
“…The best £500 I have ever spent on an employment solicitor”- D Goddard, HR Manager ARH Ltd.
Examples of recent training courses:
- Employment Law for line managers
- The 'Reasonable Steps' Defence
- Difficult employees
- Managing Change after Lockdown
